(more) Experience the real Wild West on a day trip from Las Vegas to Arizona’s ghost towns. Drive along Historic Route 66 and enjoy a photo opportunity at the mighty Hoover Dam. Explore two Arizona ghost towns and visit several historic saloons before taking part in a Western cowboy shootout show! Complimentary hotel pickup and drop-off, lunch, bottled water, transportation by air-conditioned mini-bus and professional guide are included. After pickup from your Las Vegas hotel, take a short drive by comfortable van to the Hoover Dam for a brief photo stop. This 726-foot (221-meter) dam holds back the mighty Colorado River, behind which you’ll find Lake Mead, a beautiful man-made reservoir contained within the Black Canyon walls. Take all the ‘dam’ photos you want!

Next, head to the small mining town of Chloride, a community that has survived the harsh desert environment since the 1860s. Silver and other minerals were mined here for decades, and after the mining boom was over, Chloride nearly became a ghost town. Today, Chloride is home to about 250 residents who are very proud of their mining history. Browse the antique shops; admire the various artistic sculptures; and chat with the locals before enjoying lunch.

Next, drive along the Historic Route 66 highway to the small ghost town of Oatman. The present-day population of this ghost town is 150 people and 1 poltergeist who goes by the name of ‘Oatie the Ghost.’ He’s believed to be the poor spirit of William Ray Flour, an Irish miner who died behind the Oatman Hotel.

Enjoy views of the Black Mountains and the tumbleweeds and wild burros that freely roam through the town. Have your picture taken alongside modern-day cowboys and bandits while posing in front of an authentic Route 66 sign. You'll even have a chance to take part in a Western shootout! Held in the middle of the street, this Western-style event features cowboys in costume standing face-to-face, ready to draw!

Enjoy a drink at a local saloon before traveling through the Mojave Desert along the Veterans Memorial Highway, a road that cuts straight through empty desert landscape. This calm drive is the perfect way to remember the openness of this part of America before returning to the big city lights, glitz and glamour of Las Vegas.

(more) Spend a day away from Sin City to marvel at the wonders of Mother Nature on this day trip to Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah. With your guide, enjoy several light walks to scenic lookout points along the canyon’s rim to admire spectacular vistas of stunning, colorful rock formations. You’ll spend three hours in the park, including lunch in the afternoon and free time to explore more independently. Hotel pickup and drop-off by comfortable minivan included. You’ll be picked up from your Las Vegas hotel in the morning and taken on a comfortable 4.5-hour drive by minivan to beautiful Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah. Enjoy a light morning snack including a muffin, juice, crackers and granola bar. When you arrive, your guide will take you to the visitor center to get you acquainted with the park, famous for its gorgeous landscape of geological mazes.

Follow your guide on several light walks to scenic lookout points along the canyon’s rim to admire incredible horseshoe-shaped amphitheaters, hoodoos (thin rock spires), windows and fins made of colorful limestone rocks.

At Inspiration Point, three levels provide great perspectives of the main amphitheater. See the gnarled trunks of bristlecone pines and red hoodoos set against the Boat Mesa formation. If you look carefully as you walk through these barren slopes, you might discover a short-horned lizard trying to remain camouflaged!

Head to Sunset Point, offering vistas of some of Bryce Canyon’s most breathtaking hoodoos. Admire the rainbow of colors of the Claron Formation and learn how this unique rock is composed of limestone deposited approximately 50 million years ago from an ancient lake.

Your guide will also take you to Sunrise Point, where you’ll see stark pink cliffs and ponderosa pines dominating the forest above the rim.

If you wish to explore further at any of these points, ask your guide about the best trails and head below the rim on your own for more challenging hikes.

You’ll spend approximately three hours in the park. At midday, enjoy a picnic lunch or lunch at a restaurant, depending on the weather. After your tour of Bryce Canyon, relax on the drive back to your Las Vegas hotel. Special Offer - Book now and travel by June 30, 2013 and save almost 15% on the recommended retail rate! - Book Now!
